This policy explains what Bamsirev collects and why. Bamsirev is run by [LEGAL NAME], Norway, who is responsible for your data. Contact: [SUPPORT EMAIL].

The short version

• We never receive your location. Your browser uses it to work out your speed.
• If the minimap is on, your browser loads map images for your area from OpenFreeMap, like any online map. You can switch it off in Settings.
• There's no account, no advertising and no tracking.
• We keep only what's needed to run the free allowance and Pro.

What we store

• A random ID for your car's browser and a short car code. They aren't linked to your name, and they let the dash know whether Pro is active.
• Driving time on the free plan, per day and in total, so the free trial works.
• Subscription status from Stripe: plan, status, renewal date and a customer reference. This is linked to your car code.
• Settings such as volume and favourite engine. These are saved in your browser only.

Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses and basic request logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Map

The minimap downloads map tiles from OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org), built on OpenStreetMap data. Like any online map, their servers see your IP address and which map tiles are requested, which reveals the area you're in. We don't receive this. Turn the minimap off in Settings if you prefer.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your name, email, payment details and billing address under its own privacy policy, and passes us only what we need to run your subscription. We never see your full card details.

Why we process it

To provide the service you asked for, including the Pro subscription (contract), and to keep the service secure (legitimate interest).

How long we keep it

Daily driving times are deleted after 90 days; the total used from the free trial is kept with the car ID. Car IDs with no activity for 12 months are deleted. Subscription records are kept while the subscription runs and afterwards for as long as accounting law requires.

Cookies and storage

We don't use cookies for tracking. The dash saves your settings and car ID in your browser's local storage so it remembers you. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how it's used. Email us with your car code. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or your local authority.
